Solidarity with Cuba for the problems caused by the imperialist blockade and the passage of Hurricane Oscar

The Communist Party of Greece expresses its solidarity with the people, the government and the Communist Party of Cuba in their efforts to deal with the problems in the country's electricity system and the consequences of the simultaneous passage of Hurricane Oscar through the eastern provinces of Cuba.

The problems in Cuba's electricity system are caused by the long-standing imperialist blockade by the USA and its allies, which prevents Cuba from obtaining the necessary materials  to renew the infrastructure and repair the damage, as well as obtaining the fuel needed to generate electricity.

The KKE expresses in particular its solidarity with the people of the eastern provinces of Cuba who are being affected by Hurricane Oscar which has caused deaths, flooding and the destruction of infrastructure and homes. We express our sincere condolences to those who have lost loved ones and wish for a speedy recovery from the damage.

The KKE stands by Cuba and its people and participates in the struggle to lift all measures of the barbaric imperialist blockade and to remove Cuba from the list of "state sponsors of terrorism".
