The visit of Dimitris Koutsoumbas, GS of the CC of the KKE, to the USA and Canada concluded on Saturday 27 Aprilwith a successful meeting of the KKE Friends Club in New York.

Dozens of expatriates, workers, scientists, and young people were present at the Kefalos Society of America, showing the Party’s ties with Greek emigrants who, as D. Koutsoumbas noted, not only have put their indelible stamp on the development of the labour movement in the country, but also have much to offer today and in the future, as the regroupment of the workers’–people’s movement in every country and the peoples’ counterattack against barbarity is a need that becomes increasingly urgent with each passing day.

During his stay in the USA, D. Koutsoumbas met with the president and executives of the Amazon Labor Union and visited Columbia University in New York to express the solidarity of the KKE with the students who are fighting for a free Palestine and for an endto the barbaric and unjust war, this genocide against the Palestinian people. The GS of the CC of the KKE also met with the Greek consular authorities in Canada and the USA, as well as with the Archbishop of America, Elpidophoros, where he reiterated the principled position of the KKE on the necessary separation of church and state.
